Costen Insurance would like to officially welcome Phong Le to the Costen Family!
Phong started his insurance career in 1999 as a Commercial Lines Marketer, working with producers and account managers to develop commercial insurance programs. Over the years, he has worked in various management roles and joined the Costen Insurance Team this past September. In his role as Producer Manager, Phong will be focusing on business development, production, and growth.
Phong is a huge Flames fan and he enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and kids as well as playing racquet sports. He is also a fellow motorcycle rider!

Larry Costen, CAIB – CEO / Founder
Larry began his career in the financial services sector in 1981 and after achieving a Business Diploma at SAIT, he established Costen & Associates in 1987 to provide full service products to his clients. Larry spends the majority of his time networking and building the business, and his spare time is spent riding his motorcycle to anywhere and everywhere!
Crista Costen, CAIB – Owner / President
Crista has been with Costen & Associates since July 1998 and completed a Finance Degree at Mount Royal College in 2006. As a mom of three boys, Crista balances her busy schedule between her family and focusing on marketing, customer-orientated programs, and growing and developing the business!
Andrew Shareski, CAIB – Operations Manager
Andrew has worked with Costen & Associates since June of 2007 and has been the Operations Manager since 2009. He focuses on auto, property, recreational, commercial, and travel insurance. In his spare time Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, playing guitar, and cheering for the Vancouver Canucks (sorry Flames fans).
Kristel Wilson, CIP – Insurance Broker
Kristel joined the Costen and Associates team May 2010. She completed her Chartered Insurance Professional designation in 2008 and has been in the insurance industry since 2005. Currently she focuses on auto, home, and motorcycle insurance, with some health and accident insurance. In her spare time, she enjoys books, movies, and she is also a registered “Supernatural” fanatic.
Arvind Pandher – Insurance Broker
Arvind joined our team in May 2015 and is currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Risk Management (Insurance and Finance). He is a huge basketball fan and also loves to play poker. When he is not busy with work and school, Arvind enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
Cory Vanderjagt – Insurance Broker
Cory moved to Calgary and joined the Costen & Associates team in October 2015. He’s worked as an insurance broker in Camrose, Edmonton, and Vegreville since the autumn of 2008, specializing in home, auto, motorcycle, recreational vehicle, and travel insurance. In his free time he’s usually singing, sharpening his guitar skills, and performing with his band. Cory is a lifelong Edmonton Oilers fan (sorry Flames and Canucks fans!).
Karen Sandeman – Accounting / Insurance Broker
Karen
has been in the insurance industry since 1977 and previously owned Glenmore Insurance Brokers Ltd for 21 years. In her spare time she has volunteered at Heritage Park for over 20 years. Her other interests extend to traveling the world, cooking, baking, bridge, golf, her dogs & cat, and spending time with friends and family.

Nirmal Lombsar – Producer
Nirmal joined the Costen & Associates team as a producer in July 2007, focusing mainly on auto, property, travel, and commercial insurance. She enjoys her time with her family and building her business and developing relationships with her clients.
Paramjit (Pammi) Sandhu – Producer
With a background in teaching, journalism and IT, Pammi joined the Costen & Associates Team in December 2009 and she is focusing on building her business with trust and service. She is also interested in media and hosts an evening radio show in her spare time. Pammi also enjoys yoga, music and reading and most importantly having quality time with her son, family and friends.
Nivi Uppal – Producer
Prior to coming to Costen & Associates in 2016, Nivi worked in the auto industry for the past 14 years with a number of dealerships in various sales positions. Nivi was first introduced to the insurance business in 2010 by a friend, and after a few years he decided to make a career change and become a licenced Broker. When he’s not working, Nivi likes to get out on the golf course and spend time with his family. He is thrilled to start his new career in the insurance industry and enjoy a greater work/life balance.
Lloyd Keating – Financial Advisor
Lloyd joined Costen & Associates in January 2010 as a Financial Advisor and brings over 25 years of experience to the team. He focuses on Life, Disability, Critical Illness, and Long Term Care Insurance, as well as Investments. In his spare time, Lloyd enjoys spending time with his family, camping, fishing and golfing.
Trae Ashlie-Garen – Business Coach
Trae has been the Company’s business coach since 2005 and works one-on-one with Larry, Crista, and Andrew. Her passion is to encourage and strengthen the team through building and improving systems, and organizing team building exercises and events. Trae engages in all of her contracts under The WINfinity Framework* an initiative to assist businesses and non-profits to cooperatively and collaboratively work together to make the world a better place.
