May is the unofficial start of wedding season and there are sure to be lots of weddings taking place over the next few months. If you are planning a wedding, you know that the time, energy and money required can be considerable. PAL’s Weddinguard product can safeguard your investment and help to ensure that your special day is everything you want it to be!
What is Weddinguard?
Weddinguard is an insurance product that was developed by PAL Insurance Brokers Canada Ltd, which allows you to insure your wedding. By purchasing Weddinguard, you can ensure that you have the funds available to make alternate plans in the event an unexpected or unfortunate circumstance occurs.
What is Covered?
PAL’s Weddinguard product provides the following coverage:
- Commercial General Liability – provides you with coverage for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and gift opening, and also includes Host Liquor Liability (required by most venues).
- Wedding Cancellation – provides you with reimbursement of a paid/required deposit because of unexpected cancellation of the wedding.
- Honeymoon Cancellation – provides you with reimbursement if you suffer a loss of pre-paid and non-refundable costs of travel due to the cancellation of the wedding.
- Loss Deposits – reimburses you for non-refundable deposits made to providers of any booked goods or services if they suffer financial failure.
- Wedding Photos and Video – provides you with payment of the extra expense required to retake the wedding photos if they cannot be reproduced for any reason, including a no-show of the photographer.
- Bridal Attire – provides you with coverage for the loss or damage to the bridal attire once in your care and control.
- Wedding Gifts – provides you with coverage for direct physical loss or damage to your wedding presents (for 24 hours before and after the wedding) while the presents are at your home, the reception location, or in-transit between the two locations.
- Rings – provides you with coverage for loss or damage to your wedding bangs, beginning 7 days prior to your wedding.
- Wedding Cake and Flowers – provides you with coverage for direct physical damage to the cake and flowers, beginning 7 days prior to your wedding.
- Wedding Stationary – provides you with coverage for physical damage or loss to the wedding stationary (invitations, RSVP cards, menus, name cards, etc) prior to the wedding.
- Rented Property – provides reimbursement of direct or physical damage to rented property (including outdoor tents, tables, chairs, audio equipment, etc) used during the reception.
Weddinguard Packages
There are several packages available and each package including the above coverage items with increasing levels of coverage:
- Silver package
- Gold package
- Diamond package
- Platinum package
Destination Weddings
Worldwide coverage is available through Weddinguard for destination weddings. In order to be eligible for Destination Wedding Coverage, the legal wedding ceremony must take place at the destination and some restrictions do apply.
