We would like to take this time to wish all of our clients, friends, family and associates a very Happy New Year 2022!
2021 has been another long year filled with many changes and unknowns, and we’ve yet to see an end to the COVID-19 pandemic. At least we had the opportunity to briefly reunite with our Team over the summer, and thanks to a better understanding of the virus and necessary precautions, we had the chance to finally give some long overdue hugs to all of our friends and family! Our hope for 2022 is that things continue to improve and we can eventually get our Team back in the Office full-time and altogether!
We typically start off our year with the Calgary Motorcycle Show in January. It was cancelled in 2021 and we recently received news that it will not be going ahead for 2022 as originally planned. We hope to be back in January 2023 and look forward to seeing you there!
Many of our other trade shows and events for 2021 were either cancelled or postponed, including the Home & Garden Show and our annual IBAA (Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta) convention. We are crossing our fingers that the Home & Garden Show will go ahead in late February 2022. Our Team did attend the 14th Annual Hog Rally in late August, which was a fun event. It was nice to be out and have the chance to see people in person again!
We welcomed two new Head Office Team members this year, including Hala Rifai in February and Dipika Batura in July. It has been wonderful working with and getting to know them (a little in-person and a lot virtually!), and they have done a fantastic job integrating into their roles and our Team in the middle of a pandemic!
We celebrated several anniversaries again this year, the big ones being fourteen (14) years for both Andrew Shareski and Nirmal Lombsar, eleven (11) years for Kristel Wilson, ten (10) years for Karen Sandeman, and five (5) years for Nivi Uppal, and twenty-three (23) years for myself, Crista. We are so fortunate to have such amazing people as part of the Costen Family!
After a busy summer, a few of our Team members celebrated the end of the summer holidays with our annual Team get together. We decided to meet in Bowness Park again this year, gifting everyone a Subway gift card so they could bring their own lunch! We also had some delicious candy treats from The Candy Dandy Co. Despite the absolutely crazy weather, which included sunshine followed by wind, rain, sleet, thunder and lightening, we all had a great time!
Our designated charity partner for 2020 and beyond is the Helping Families Handle Cancer Foundation. 2021 was another successful year with referrals (Thank You) and we are looking forward to sending them a donation at the end of the year.
