You may have already heard of our amazing Charity Partner, Helping Families Handle Cancer Foundation. They are a wonderful group of people doing wonderful things for cancer kids and their families.

I recently joined the charity as a volunteer board member and I’m excited to be helping them with their upcoming Silent Auction! This is one of their largest yearly fundraisers, which raises money for their cancer families. The Silent Auction will be virtual again this year, taking place from November 12th to 14th!

If you are interested in providing a personal or business donation for the auction, we are collecting items until Friday, November 5th and would be eternally grateful!

For those looking for a little more information on this great charity:

Helping Families Handle Cancer Foundation was founded in 2008 by Carie Stock, a childhood cancer survivor. The foundation is very dear to Carie, as over 36 years ago she was diagnosed with a rare tumour called Rhabdomyosarcoma, at the age of only 13 months old. Carie’s mother was a single parent when Carie was diagnosed, and she struggled financially, as she spent every day at the hospital and had a newborn son to raise as well.  Her income was suspended while she spent all her time at the hospital and she found it difficult to pay household bills, often having to choose which bills to pay and which to delay.  This foundation fills the niche and needs in the community when parents are in crisis mode. The precious time they have with their child during this time period can be all that they have in the end.
